This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook

In commit 4af65141e38e ("media: marvell: cafe: Register V4L2 device earlier"), a call to v4l2_device_register() was moved away from mccic_register() into its caller, marvell/cafe's cafe_pci_probe(). This is not the only caller though -- there's also marvell/mmp. Add v4l2_device_register() into mmpcam_probe() to unbreak the MMP camera driver, in a fashion analogous to what's been done to the Cafe driver. Same for the teardown path. media: platform: drop vb2_ops_wait_prepare/finish

Since commit 88785982a19d ("media: vb2: use lock if wait_prepare/finish are NULL") it is no longer needed to set the wait_prepare/finish vb2_ops callbacks as long as the lock field in vb2_queue is set. Since the vb2_ops_wait_prepare/finish callbacks already rely on that field, we can safely drop these callbacks. After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove() return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement for platform drivers. Convert all platform drivers below drivers/media to use .remove(), with the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As .remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done by just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. media: Convert from tasklet to BH workqueue

The only generic interface to execute asynchronously in the BH context is tasklet; however, it's marked deprecated and has some design flaws. To replace tasklets, BH workqueue support was recently added. A BH workqueue behaves similarly to regular workqueues except that the queued work items are executed in the BH context.
