In some cases when using VSB, the AGC status register has been known to falsely report "no signal" when in fact there is a carrier lock. The datasheet labels these status flags as QAM only, yet the lgdt330x module is using these flags for both QAM and VSB. This patch allows for the carrier recovery lock status register to be tested, even if the agc signal status register falsely reports no signal. DVB: fix dvb_pll_attach for mt352/zl10353 in cx88-dvb, and nxt200x Typical wiring of MT352, ZL10353, NXT2002 and NXT2004 based tuners differ from dvb-pll's expectation that the PLL is directly accessible. On these boards, the PLL is actually hidden behind the demodulator, and as such can only be accessed via the demodulator's interface. It was failing to communicate with the PLL during an attach test and subsequently not connecting the tuner ops. By passing a NULL I2C bus handle to dvb_pll_attach, this accessibility check can be bypassed. Do this for the affected boards. Also fix a possible NULL dereference at sleep time, which would otherwise be exposed by this change. This patch has been backported to the 2.6.18.y stable kernel series from the original changesets from Chris Pascoe and Michael Krufky, already present in the upstream 2.6.19 kernel tree. DVB: cx24123: fix PLL divisor setup

The cx24109 datasheet says: "NOTE: if A=0, then N=N+1" The current code is the result of a misinterpretation of the datasheet to mean exactly the opposite of the requirement -- The actual value of N is 1 greater than the value written when A is 0, so 1 needs to be *subtracted* from it to compensate. Some cards have multiple possible addresses for their PLLs, with no other way to tell if a PLL is present or not apart from probing to see if an i2c device is present. [PATCH] release_firmware() fixes

Use release_firmware() to free requested resources. According to Documentation/firmware_class/README the request_firmware() call should be followed by a release_firmware(). Some drivers do not however free the firmware previously allocated with request_firmware(). This patch tries to fix this by making sure that release_firmware() is used as expected.
