commit 85e4614524dca6c0a43874f475a17de2b9725648 upstream.

The MCP4131 wiper address is shifted twice when preparing the SPI
command in mcp4131_write_raw().

The address is already shifted when assigned to the local variable
"address", but is then shifted again when written to data->buf[0].
This results in an incorrect command being sent to the device and
breaks wiper writes to the second channel.

Remove the second shift and use the pre-shifted address directly
when composing the SPI transfer.

Avoiding unused variable warnings when using this macro adds
complexity that in simple cases like this one is not justified
for the small saving in data.

Switch include from acpi.h to mod_devicetable.h which includes the
definition of struct acpi_device_id.

Convert enum->pointer for data in the ID table, so that
device_get_match_data() can do match against OF/ACPI/I2C tables, once i2c
bus type match support added to it.

Replace enum->struct *ds1803_cfg for data in the ID table and simplify
ds1803_probe() by replacing device_get_match_data() with
i2c_get_match_data().

The Renesas X9250 integrates four digitally controlled potentiometers.
On each potentiometer, the X9250T has a 100 kOhms total resistance and
the X9250U has a 50 kOhms total resistance.

.probe_new() doesn't get the i2c_device_id * parameter, so determine
that explicitly in the probe function.
