[ Upstream commit e740ceb53e4579a7a4063712cebecac3c343b189 ]

VGA_IS1_RC is the color mode register (VGA_IS1_RM the one for monochrome
mode, note C vs. M at the end). So when using VGA_IS1_RC make sure the
vga device is actually in color mode and set the corresponding bit in the
misc register.

Reproducible when booting VMs in UEFI mode with some edk2 versions (edk2
fix is on the way too). Doesn't happen in BIOS mode because in that
case the vgabios already flips the bit.

[ Upstream commit 9ad6f181ad9a19a26bda73a7b199df44ccfcdaba ]

The SPI core always reports a "MODALIAS=spi:&lt;foo&gt;", even if the device was
registered via OF. This means that the st7735r.ko module won't autoload if
a DT has a node with a compatible "okaya,rh128128t" string.

In that case, kmod expects a "MODALIAS=of:N*T*Cokaya,rh128128t" uevent but
instead will get a "MODALIAS=spi:rh128128t", which is not present in the
list of aliases:

  $ modinfo drivers/gpu/drm/tiny/st7735r.ko | grep alias
  alias:          of:N*T*Cokaya,rh128128tC*
  alias:          of:N*T*Cokaya,rh128128t
  alias:          of:N*T*Cjianda,jd-t18003-t01C*
  alias:          of:N*T*Cjianda,jd-t18003-t01
  alias:          spi:jd-t18003-t01

To workaround this issue, add in the SPI table an entry for that device.

<title>drm/simpledrm: Fix return type of simpledrm_simple_display_pipe_mode_valid()</title>

commit 0c09bc33aa8e9dc867300acaadc318c2f0d85a1e upstream.

When booting a kernel compiled with clang's CFI protection
(CONFIG_CFI_CLANG), there is a CFI failure in
drm_simple_kms_crtc_mode_valid() when trying to call
simpledrm_simple_display_pipe_mode_valid() through -&gt;mode_valid():

[    0.322802] CFI failure (target: simpledrm_simple_display_pipe_mode_valid+0x0/0x8):
...
[    0.324928] Call trace:

[    0.325279]  __drm_helper_update_and_validate+0x31c/0x464
...

The -&gt;mode_valid() member in 'struct drm_simple_display_pipe_funcs'
expects a return type of 'enum drm_mode_status', not 'int'. Correct it
to fix the CFI failure.

commit 94fa115f7b28a3f02611499175e134f0a823b686 upstream.

Some devices use e.g. a portrait panel in a standard laptop casing made
for landscape panels. efifb calls drm_get_panel_orientation_quirk() and
sets fb_info.fbcon_rotate_hint to make fbcon rotate the console so that
it shows up-right instead of on its side.

When switching to simpledrm the fbcon renders on its side. Call the
drm_connector_set_panel_orientation_with_quirk() helper to add
a "panel orientation" property on devices listed in the quirk table,
to make the fbcon (and aware userspace apps) rotate the image to
display properly.
