The drm_kms_helper_poll_fini() and drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() helpers should only be called when the device has been successfully registered. Currently, these functions are called unconditionally in tilcdc_fini(), which causes warnings during probe deferral scenarios. drm/tilcdc: Switch to drm_atomic_get_new_crtc_state()

The tilcdc atomic_check implementation uses the deprecated drm_atomic_get_existing_crtc_state() helper. This hook is called as part of the global atomic_check, thus before the states are swapped. The existing state thus points to the new state, and we can use drm_atomic_get_new_crtc_state() instead. In the tilcdc_crtc_atomic_check(), the tilcdc driver hand-crafts its own implementation of drm_atomic_helper_check_crtc_primary_plane(). And it does so by accessing the state pointer in drm_atomic_state->planes which is deprecated. Let's use the right helper here. drm: remove driver date from struct drm_driver and all drivers

We stopped using the driver initialized date in commit 7fb8af6798e8 ("drm: deprecate driver date") and (eventually) started returning "0" for drm_version ioctl instead. Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct

The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a comment to that effect: /* * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove(). * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped. */ This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with '.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs to make things line up. I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used spaces to line things up. Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this is the end result.
