commit 84d1c9b416d54afe760ca4c378bd95c89261254c upstream.

The LVDS init code looks up an I2C adapter using i2c_get_adapter() and
tries to read the EDID before falling back to allocating and registering
its own adapter.

Make sure to drop the references taken by i2c_get_adapter() when falling
back to allocating an adapter as well as on late errors to allow the
looked up adapter to be deregistered.

commit 657a091ab6d01d0091b77660c75cfed573c9a53e upstream.

The LVDS init code looks up an I2C adapter using i2c_get_adapter() and
tries to read the EDID before falling back to allocating and registering
its own adapter.

The error handling does not separate these cases so on a late init
failure it will try to deregister and free also an adapter that had
previously been registered. Since i2c_get_adapter() takes another
reference to the adapter, deregistration hangs indefinitely while
waiting for the reference to be released.

Fix this by only destroying adapters allocated during LVDS init on
errors.

<title>drm/gma500: Remove unused helper psb_fbdev_fb_setcolreg()</title>

commit be729f9de6c64240645dc80a24162ac4d3fe00a8 upstream.

Remove psb_fbdev_fb_setcolreg(), which hasn't been called in almost
a decade.

Gma500 commit 4d8d096e9ae8 ("gma500: introduce the framebuffer support
code") added the helper psb_fbdev_fb_setcolreg() for setting the fbdev
palette via fbdev's fb_setcolreg callback. Later
commit 3da6c2f3b730 ("drm/gma500: use DRM_FB_HELPER_DEFAULT_OPS for
fb_ops") set several default helpers for fbdev emulation, including
fb_setcmap.

The fbdev subsystem always prefers fb_setcmap over fb_setcolreg. [1]
Hence, the gma500 code is no longer in use and gma500 has been using
drm_fb_helper_setcmap() for several years without issues.

[ Upstream commit 352e66900cde63f3dadb142364d3c35170bbaaff ]

pci_set_drvdata sets the value of pdev-&gt;driver_data to NULL,
after which the driver_data obtained from the same dev is
dereferenced in oaktrail_hdmi_i2c_exit, and the i2c_dev is
extracted from it. To prevent this, swap these calls.

[ Upstream commit 9af152dcf1a06f589f44a74da4ad67e365d4db9a ]

Since pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot() can return NULL, add NULL check for
pci_gfx_root in the mid_get_vbt_data().

This change is similar to the checks implemented in mid_get_fuse_settings()
and mid_get_pci_revID(), which were introduced by commit 0cecdd818cd7
("gma500: Final enables for Oaktrail") as "additional minor
bulletproofing".

into the open helper to ensure that the flag is always set.

I2C v7, SMBus 3.2, and I3C 1.1.1 specifications have replaced "master/slave"
with more appropriate terms. Inspired by Wolfram's series to fix drivers/i2c/,
fix the terminology for users of I2C_ALGOBIT bitbanging interface, now that
the approved verbiage exists in the specification.
