[ Upstream commit c915ef890d5dc79f483e1ca3b3a5b5f1a170690c ]

If the user passes a "level" value which is higher than 31 then that
leads to shift wrapping. The undefined behavior will lead to a
syzkaller stack dump.

commit 87004abfbc27261edd15716515d89ab42198b405 upstream.

This regressed some working configurations so revert it. Will
fix this properly for 5.9 and backport then.

This reverts commit 38e0c89a19fd13f28d2b4721035160a3e66e270b.

commit 38e0c89a19fd13f28d2b4721035160a3e66e270b upstream.

NULL dereference occurs when string that is not ended with space or
newline is written to some dpm sysfs interface (for example pp_dpm_sclk).
This happens because strsep replaces the tmp with NULL if the delimiter
is not present in string, which is then dereferenced by tmp[0].

Reproduction example:
sudo sh -c 'echo -n 1 > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/pp_dpm_sclk'

commit 5932d260a8d85a103bd6c504fbb85ff58b156bf9 upstream.

On ARCTURUS and RENOIR, powerplay is not supported yet.
When plug in or unplug power jack, ACPI event will issue.
Then kernel NULL pointer BUG will be triggered.
Check for NULL pointers before calling.

idx can be indirectly controlled by user-space, hence leading to a
potential exploitation of the Spectre variant 1 vulnerability.

This issue was detected with the help of Smatch:

drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_pm.c:408 amdgpu_set_pp_force_state()
warn: potential spectre issue 'data.states'

Fix this by sanitizing idx before using it to index data.states

Notice that given that speculation windows are large, the policy is
to kill the speculation on the first load and not worry if it can be
completed with a dependent load/store [1].
