Instances are happier that way and it makes more sense anyway - the only part of the result that is related to partition we are given is the start sector, and that has been filled in by the caller. Everything else is a function of the disk. Only one instance (DASD) is ever looking at anything other than bdev->bd_disk and that one is trivial to adjust. Reviewed-by: Martin K. block: mtip32xx: Fix usage of dma_map_sg()

The dma_map_sg() can fail and, in case of failure, returns 0. If it fails, mtip_hw_submit_io() returns an error. The dma_unmap_sg() requires the nents parameter to be the same as the one passed to dma_map_sg(). This patch saves the nents in command->scatter_ents. pcim_iounmap_regions() is deprecated. Moreover, it is not necessary to call it in the driver's remove() function or if probe() fails, since it does cleanup automatically on driver detach. Remove all calls to pcim_iounmap_regions(). pcim_iomap_table() and pcim_request_regions() have been deprecated in commit e354bb84a4c1 ("PCI: Deprecate pcim_iomap_table(), pcim_iomap_regions_request_all()") and commit d140f80f60358 ("PCI: Deprecate pcim_iomap_regions() in favor of pcim_iomap_region()"), respectively. no_llseek had been defined to NULL two years ago, in commit 868941b14441 ("fs: remove no_llseek") To quote that commit, At -rc1 we'll need do a mechanical removal of no_llseek - git grep -l -w no_llseek | grep -v porting.rst | while read i; do sed -i '/\/d' $i done would do it. Unfortunately, that hadn't been done. Linus, could you do that now, so that we could finally put that thing to rest? All instances are of the form .llseek = no_llseek, so it's obviously safe. Since the debugfs_create_dir() never returns a null pointer, checking the return value for a null pointer is redundant. Since debugfs_create_file() can deal with a ERR_PTR() style pointer, drop the check. Since mtip_hw_debugfs_init does not pay attention to the return value, its return type can be changed to void. Note that this also removes code from dm to clear the flag based on the underlying devices, which can't be reached as dm devices will always start out without the flag set. block: move the nonrot flag to queue_limits

Move the nonrot flag into the queue_limits feature field so that it can be set atomically with the queue frozen. Use the chance to switch to defaulting to non-rotational and require the driver to opt into rotational, which matches the polarity of the sysfs interface. For the z2ram, ps3vram, 2x memstick, ubiblock and dcssblk the new rotational flag is not set as they clearly are not rotational despite this being a behavior change. There are some other drivers that unconditionally set the rotational flag to keep the existing behavior as they arguably can be used on rotational devices even if that is probably not their main use today (e.g. virtio_blk and drbd). The flag is automatically inherited in blk_stack_limits matching the existing behavior in dm and md.
