Patch series "iomap: Constify ioreadX() iomem argument", v3. The ioread8/16/32() and others have inconsistent interface among the architectures: some taking address as const, some not. It seems there is nothing really stopping all of them to take pointer to const. This patch (of 4): The ioreadX() and ioreadX_rep() helpers have inconsistent interface. On some architectures void *__iomem address argument is a pointer to const, on some not. Implementations of ioreadX() do not modify the memory under the address so they can be converted to a "const" version for const-safety and consistency among architectures. Except for historical confusion in the kprobes/uprobes and bpf tracers, which has been fixed now, there is no good reason to ever allow user memory accesses from probe_kernel_read. Switch probe_kernel_read to only read from kernel memory. Currently architectures have to override every routine that probes kernel memory, which includes a pure read and strcpy, both in strict and not strict variants. Just provide a single arch hooks instead to make sure all architectures cover all the cases. take the dummy csum_and_copy_from_user() into net/checksum.h

now that can be done conveniently - all non-trivial cases have _HAVE_ARCH_COPY_AND_CSUM_FROM_USER defined, so the fallback in net/checksum.h is used only for dummy (copy_from_user, then csum_partial) implementation.
