2012-03-08TTY: remove unneeded tty->index checksJiri Slaby1-12/+3
Checking if tty->index is in bounds is not needed. The tty has the index set in the initial open. This is done in get_tty_driver. And it can be only in interval <0,driver->num). So remove the tests which check exactly this interval. Some are left untouched as they check against the current backing device count. (Leaving apart that the check is racy in most of the cases.) 2011-11-16RS485: fix inconsistencies in the meaning of some variablesClaudio Scordino1-8/+2
The crisv10.c and the atmel_serial.c serial drivers intepret the fields of the serial_rs485 structure in a different way. In particular, crisv10.c uses SER_RS485_RTS_AFTER_SEND and SER_RS485_RTS_ON_SEND for the voltage of the RTS pin; atmel_serial.c, instead, uses these values to know if a delay must be set before and after sending. This patch makes the usage of these variables consistent across all drivers and fixes the Documentation as well. From now on, SER_RS485_RTS_AFTER_SEND and SER_RS485_RTS_ON_SEND will be used to set the voltage of the RTS pin (as in the crisv10.c driver); the delay will be understood by looking only at the value of delay_rts_before_send and delay_rts_after_send. 2011-09-23TTY: irq: Remove IRQF_DISABLEDYong Zhang1-9/+9
Since commit [e58aa3d2: genirq: Run irq handlers with interrupts disabled], We run all interrupt handlers with interrupts disabled and we even check and yell when an interrupt handler returns with interrupts enabled (see commit [b738a50a: genirq: Warn when handler enables interrupts]). 2011-02-17tiocmget: kill off the passing of the struct fileAlan Cox1-1/+1
We don't actually need this and it causes problems for internal use of this functionality. Currently there is a single use of the FILE * pointer. That is the serial core which uses it to check tty_hung_up_p. However if that is true then IO_ERROR is also already set so the check may be removed. The serial drivers are really just tty drivers, so move them to drivers/tty/ to make things a bit neater overall.
