2019-06-19net: mvpp2: cls: Use a dedicated lu_type for the RSS lookupMaxime Chevallier2-2/+7
When performing a TCAM lookup in the C2 engine, it's possible that multiple entries match the packet. To make sure the correct entry match when performing a lookup, the Flow Table can set a lookup type, which will be used in the TCAM lookup, thus preventing such false-positives. We need to make sure the RSS match doesn't interfere with other classification lookups, hence we use a dedicated lookup_type for it. The management IP block is tightly coupled with the Cadence MACB IP block on the FU540, and manages many of the boundary signals from the MACB IP. This patch only controls the tx_clk input signal to the MACB IP. Future patches may add support for monitoring or controlling other IP boundary signals. 2019-06-18tun: wake up waitqueues after IFF_UP is setFei Li1-10/+9
Currently after setting tap0 link up, the tun code wakes tx/rx waited queues up in tun_net_open() when .ndo_open() is called, however the IFF_UP flag has not been set yet. If there's already a wait queue, it would fail to transmit when checking the IFF_UP flag in tun_sendmsg(). Then the saving vhost_poll_start() will add the wq into wqh until it is waken up again. Although this works when IFF_UP flag has been set when tun_chr_poll detects; this is not true if IFF_UP flag has not been set at that time. Sadly the latter case is a fatal error, as the wq will never be waken up in future unless later manually setting link up on purpose. Fix this by moving the wakeup process into the NETDEV_UP event notifying process, this makes sure IFF_UP has been set before all waited queues been waken up. A previous attempt to shut up the uninitialized variable use warning was apparently insufficient. 2019-06-18bnx2x: Check if transceiver implements DDM before accessMauro S. M. Rodrigues2-1/+3
Some transceivers may comply with SFF-8472 even though they do not implement the Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) interface described in the spec. The existence of such area is specified by the 6th bit of byte 92, set to 1 if implemented. Currently, without checking this bit, bnx2x fails trying to read sfp module's EEPROM with the follow message: ethtool -m enP5p1s0f1 Cannot get Module EEPROM data: Input/output error Because it fails to read the additional 256 bytes in which it is assumed to exist the DDM data. This issue was noticed using a Mellanox Passive DAC PN 01FT738. The EEPROM data was confirmed by Mellanox as correct and similar to other Passive DACs from other manufacturers. 2019-06-18mlxsw: spectrum_router: Adjust IPv6 replace logic to new notificationsIdo Schimmel1-7/+7
Previously, IPv6 replace notifications were only sent from fib6_add_rt2node(). The function only emitted such notifications if a route actually replaced another route. A previous patch added another call site in ip6_route_multipath_add() from which such notification can be emitted even if a route was merely added and did not replace another route. Adjust the driver to take this into account and potentially set the 'replace' flag to 'false' if the notified route did not replace an existing route. The function mlxsw_sp_router_fib6_event() takes care of preparing the needed information for the work item that actually inserts the route into the device. When processing an IPv6 multipath route, the function will need to allocate an array to store pointers to all the sibling routes. Change the function's signature to return an error code and adjust the single call site. 2019-06-18brcmfmac: sdio: Don't tune while the card is offDouglas Anderson1-0/+7
When Broadcom SDIO cards are idled they go to sleep and a whole separate subsystem takes over their SDIO communication. This is the Always-On-Subsystem (AOS) and it can't handle tuning requests. Specifically, as tested on rk3288-veyron-minnie (which reports having BCM4354/1 in dmesg), if I force a retune in brcmf_sdio_kso_control() when "on = 1" (aka we're transition from sleep to wake) by whacking: bus->sdiodev->func1->card->host->need_retune = 1 ...then I can often see tuning fail. In this case dw_mmc reports "All phases bad!"). Note that I don't get 100% failure, presumably because sometimes the card itself has already transitioned away from the AOS itself by the time we try to wake it up. If I force retuning when "on = 0" (AKA force retuning right before sending the command to go to sleep) then retuning is always OK. NOTE: we need _both_ this patch and the patch to avoid triggering tuning due to CRC errors in the sleep/wake transition, AKA ("brcmfmac: sdio: Disable auto-tuning around commands expected to fail"). Though both patches handle issues with Broadcom's AOS, the problems are distinct: 1. We want to defer (but not ignore) asynchronous (like timer-requested) tuning requests till the card is awake. However, we want to ignore CRC errors during the transition, we don't want to queue deferred tuning request. 2. You could imagine that the AOS could implement retuning but we could still get errors while transitioning in and out of the AOS. Similarly you could imagine a seamless transition into and out of the AOS (with no CRC errors) even if the AOS couldn't handle tuning. ALSO NOTE: presumably there is never a desperate need to retune in order to wake up the card, since doing so is impossible. Luckily the only way the card can get into sleep state is if we had a good enough tuning to send it the command to put it into sleep, so presumably that "good enough" tuning is enough to wake us up, at least with a few retries. 2019-06-18brcmfmac: sdio: Disable auto-tuning around commands expected to failDouglas Anderson1-0/+4
There are certain cases, notably when transitioning between sleep and active state, when Broadcom SDIO WiFi cards will produce errors on the SDIO bus. This is evident from the source code where you can see that we try commands in a loop until we either get success or we've tried too many times. The comment in the code reinforces this by saying "just one write attempt may fail" Unfortunately these failures sometimes end up causing an "-EILSEQ" back to the core which triggers a retuning of the SDIO card and that blocks all traffic to the card until it's done. Let's disable retuning around the commands we expect might fail. This reverts commit 29f6589140a10ece8c1d73f58043ea5b3473ab3e. After that patch landed I find that my kernel log on rk3288-veyron-minnie and rk3288-veyron-speedy is filled with: brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_bus_sleep: error while changing bus sleep state -110 This seems to happen every time the Broadcom WiFi transitions out of sleep mode. Reverting the commit fixes the problem for me, so that's what this patch does. Note that, in general, the justification in the original commit seemed a little weak. It looked like someone was testing on a SD card controller that would sometimes die if there were CRC errors on the bus. This used to happen back in early days of dw_mmc (the controller on my boards), but we fixed it. Disabling a feature on all boards just because one SD card controller is broken seems bad. 2019-06-18iavf: allow null RX descriptorsMitch Williams1-3/+18
In some circumstances, the hardware can hand us a null receive descriptor, with no data attached but otherwise valid. Unfortunately, the driver was ill-equipped to handle such an event, and would stop processing packets at that point. To fix this, use the Descriptor Done bit instead of the size to determine whether or not a descriptor is ready to be processed. Add some checks to allow for unused buffers. Add call to iavf_add_cloud_filter and iavf_del_cloud_filter from iavf_process_aq_command to clear aq_required IAVF_FLAG_AQ_ADD_CLOUD_FILTER and IAVF_FLAG_AQ_DEL_CLOUD_FILTER bits. aq_required IAVF_FLAG_AQ_DEL_CLOUD_FILTER bit is being set in iavf_down and iavf_delete_clsflower, and are never cleared. aq_required IAVF_FLAG_AQ_ADD_CLOUD_FILTER bit is being set in iavf_handle_reset and iavf_configure_clsflower, and are never cleared. Since the aq_required is not zero, iavf_watchdog_task is setting the queue_delayed_work to 20 msec instead of the longer delay. The counter variable in iavf_clean_tx_irq starts out negative and climbs to 0. So allocating it as u16 is actually a really bad idea that just happens to work because the value underflows and overflows consistently on most architectures. Replace the u16 with an int so signed math works as expected. 2019-06-17net: ethernet: ti: davinci_cpdma: use idled submitIvan Khoronzhuk5-41/+77
While data pass suspend, reuse of rx descriptors can be disabled using channel state & lock from cpdma layer. For this, submit to a channel has to be disabled using state != "not active" under lock, what is done with this patch. The same submit is used to fill rx channel while ndo_open, when channel is idled, so add idled submit routine that allows to prepare descs for the channel. All this simplifies code and helps to avoid dormant mode usage and send packets only to active channels, avoiding potential race in later on changes. No platform uses the "reset_gpio" field from stmmac_mdio_bus_data anymore. Drop it so we don't get any new consumers either. Plain GPIO numbers are being deprecated in favor of GPIO descriptors. If needed any new non-OF platform can add a GPIO descriptor lookup table. devm_gpiod_get_optional() will find the GPIO in that case.
