2019-08-06mtd: rawnand: micron: handle on-die "ECC-off" devices correctlyMarco Felsch1-3/+11
commit 8493b2a06fc5b77ef5c579dc32b12761f7b7a84c upstream. Some devices are not supposed to support on-die ECC but experience shows that internal ECC machinery can actually be enabled through the "SET FEATURE (EFh)" command, even if a read of the "READ ID Parameter Tables" returns that it is not. Currently, the driver checks the "READ ID Parameter" field directly after having enabled the feature. If the check fails it returns immediately but leaves the ECC on. When using buggy chips like MT29F2G08ABAGA and MT29F2G08ABBGA, all future read/program cycles will go through the on-die ECC, confusing the host controller which is supposed to be the one handling correction. To address this in a common way we need to turn off the on-die ECC directly after reading the "READ ID Parameter" and before checking the "ECC status". 2019-07-26mtd: spinand: read returns badly if the last page has bitflipsliaoweixiong1-1/+1
commit b83408b580eccf8d2797cd6cb9ae42c2a28656a7 upstream. In case of the last page containing bitflips (ret > 0), spinand_mtd_read() will return that number of bitflips for the last page while it should instead return max_bitflips like it does when the last page read returns with 0. 2019-07-26mtd: rawnand: mtk: Correct low level time calculation of r/w cycleXiaolei Li1-3/+21
commit e1884ffddacc0424d7e785e6f8087bd12f7196db upstream. At present, the flow of calculating AC timing of read/write cycle in SDR mode is that: At first, calculate high hold time which is valid for both read and write cycle using the max value between tREH_min and tWH_min. Secondly, calculate WE# pulse width using tWP_min. Thridly, calculate RE# pulse width using the bigger one between tREA_max and tRP_min. But NAND SPEC shows that Controller should also meet write/read cycle time. That is write cycle time should be more than tWC_min and read cycle should be more than tRC_min. Obviously, we do not achieve that now. This patch corrects the low level time calculation to meet minimum read/write cycle time required. After getting the high hold time, WE# low level time will be promised to meet tWP_min and tWC_min requirement, and RE# low level time will be promised to meet tREA_max, tRP_min and tRC_min requirement. 2019-07-10mtd: spi-nor: fix options for mx66l51235fAlexander Amelkin1-1/+1
Currently in driver spi-nor there is a line for mx66l51235l. According to Macronix site there is no such part number. The chip detected as such is actually mx66l51235f. According to the datasheet for mx66l51235f, "The device default is in 24-bit address mode" (section 9-10). Hence we removed SPI_NOR_4B_OPCODES option with this commit. 2019-07-10mtd: spi-nor: aspeed: limit the maximum SPI frequencyCédric Le Goater1-4/+13
The optimize read algo can choose a 100MHz SPI frequency which might be a bit too high for dual output IO on some chips, for the W25Q256 on palmetto for instance. The MX66L1G45G on witherspoon should be fine though. Also, the second chip of the FMC controller does not get any optimize settings for reads. Only the first is configured by U-Boot. To fix these two issues, we introduce a "spi-max-frequency" property in the device tree which will be used to cap the optimize read algorithm and we run the algo on the FMC controller chips as well. By default, the frequency setting is 50MHz. This is only for SPI controllers as U-Boot should have done it already for the FMC controller using DMAs. The algo is based on the one found in the OpenPOWER pflash tool. It first reads a golden buffer at low speed and then performs reads with different clocks and delay cycles settings to find the fastest configuration for the chip. It can be deactivated at boot time with the kernel parameter : aspeed_smc.optimize_read=0 OpenBMC-Staging-Count: 7 Signed-off-by: Cédric Le Goater <clg@kaod.org> Signed-off-by: Alexander Soldatov <a.soldatov@yadro.com> Signed-off-by: Joel Stanley <joel@jms.id.au>

This is now a boolean instead of tristate. - To avoid changing the module name, the ingenic_nand.c file is moved to ingenic_nand_drv.c. Then the module name is still ingenic_nand. - Since ingenic_ecc.c is no more a module, the module-specific macros have been dropped, and the functions are no more exported for use by the ingenic_nand driver. SPI memory devices from different manufacturers have widely different configurations for Status, Control and Configuration registers. JEDEC 216C defines a new map for these common register bits and their functions, and describes how the individual bits may be accessed for a specific device. For the JEDEC 216B compliant flashes, we can partially deduce Status and Configuration registers functions by inspecting the 16th DWORD of BFPT. Older flashes that don't declare the SFDP tables (SPANSION FL512SAIFG1 311QQ063 A ©11 SPANSION) let the software decide how to interact with these registers. The commit dcb4b22eeaf4 ("spi-nor: s25fl512s supports region locking") uncovered a probe error for s25fl512s, when the Quad Enable bit CR[1] was set to one in the bootloader. When this bit is one, only the Write Status (01h) command with two data byts may be used, the 01h command with one data byte is not recognized and hence the error when trying to clear the block protection bits. Fix the above by using the Write Status (01h) command with two data bytes when the Quad Enable bit is one. Backward compatibility should be fine. The newly introduced spi_nor_spansion_clear_sr_bp() is tightly coupled with the spansion_quad_enable() function. Both assume that the Write Register with 16 bits, together with the Read Configuration Register (35h) instructions are supported.
