2012-04-30powerpc/powermac: New windfarm driver for PowerMac G5 (AGP) and Xserve G5Benjamin Herrenschmidt1-1/+2
This replaces the old therm_pm72 using the same windfarm infrastructure that was used for other PowerMac G5 models. The fan speeds and sensors should now be visible in the same location in sysfs. The driver is split into separate core modules for PowerMac7,2 (and 7,3) and RackMac3,1, with a lot of the shared code now in the separate sensor and control modules. 2012-04-30powerpc/windfarm: Add useful accessorsBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-0/+25
Makes the code more readable Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2012-04-30powerpc/windfarm: const'ify and add "priv" field to controls & sensorsBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-11/+12
const'ify the sensor ops and name and add a void* for use by the control and sensor drivers to point back to their private data, avoiding the need to create a wrapper data structure per sensor or control instance. Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>
2006-02-08[PATCH] powerpc: Thermal control for dual core G5sBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-0/+3
This patch adds a windfarm module, windfarm_pm112, for the dual core G5s (both 2 and 4 core models), keeping the machine from getting into vacuum-cleaner mode ;) For proper credits, the patch was initially written by Paul Mackerras, and slightly reworked by me to add overtemp handling among others. The patch also removes the sysfs attributes from windfarm_pm81 and windfarm_pm91 and instead adds code to the windfarm core to automagically expose attributes for sensor & controls. 2005-11-08[PATCH] ppc64: Thermal control for SMU based machinesBenjamin Herrenschmidt1-0/+131
This adds a new thermal control framework for PowerMac, along with the implementation for PowerMac8,1, PowerMac8,2 (iMac G5 rev 1 and 2), and PowerMac9,1 (latest single CPU desktop). In the future, I expect to move the older G5 thermal control to the new framework as well.
