commit c648c4bb7d02ceb53ee40172fdc4433b37cee9c6 upstream.
__virt_to_phys function is called very early in the boot process (ie
kasan_early_init) so it should not be instrumented by KASAN otherwise it
bugs.
Fix this by declaring phys_addr.c as non-kasan instrumentable.

commit a3d328037846d013bb4c7f3777241e190e4c75e1 upstream.
In order to get the pfn of a struct page* when sparsemem is enabled
without vmemmap, the mem_section structures need to be initialized which
happens in sparse_init.
But kasan_early_init calls pfn_to_page way before sparse_init is called,
which then tries to dereference a null mem_section pointer.
Fix this by removing the usage of this function in kasan_early_init.

commit 22e2100b1b07d6f5acc71cc1acb53f680c677d77 upstream.
The trace_hardirqs_{on,off}() require the caller to setup frame pointer
properly. This because these two functions use macro 'CALLER_ADDR1' (aka.
__builtin_return_address(1)) to acquire caller info. If the $fp is used
for other purpose, the code generated this macro (as below) could trigger
memory access fault.

commit 6a00ef4493706a23120057fafbc62379bcde11ec upstream.
I tried different pieces of code which uses __builtin_frame_address(1)
(with both gcc version 7.5.0 and 10.3.0) to verify whether it works as
expected on riscv64. The result is negative.
What the compiler had generated is as below:
31 fp = (unsigned long)__builtin_frame_address(1);
0xffffffff80006024 <+200>: ld s1,0(s0)
It takes '0(s0)' as the address of frame 1 (caller), but the actual address
should be '-16(s0)'.
| ... | <-+
+-----------------+ |
| return address | |
| previous fp | |
| saved registers | |
| local variables | |
$fp --> | ... | |
+-----------------+ |
| return address | |
| previous fp --------+
| saved registers |
$sp --> | local variables |
+-----------------+
This leads the kernel can not dump the full stack trace on riscv.
[ 7.222126][ T1] Call Trace:
[ 7.222804][ T1] [<ffffffff80006058>] dump_backtrace+0x2c/0x3a
This problem is not exposed on most riscv builds just because the '0(s0)'
occasionally is the address frame 2 (caller's caller), if only ra and fp
are stored in frame 1 (caller).

+-----------------+ |
| return address | |
$fp --> | previous fp | |
+-----------------+ |
| return address | |
| previous fp --------+
| saved registers |
$sp --> | local variables |
+-----------------+
This could be a *bug* of gcc that should be fixed. But as noted in gcc
manual "Calling this function with a nonzero argument can have
unpredictable effects, including crashing the calling program.", let's
remove the '__builtin_frame_address(1)' in backtrace code.
With this fix now it can show full stack trace:

commit 6df2a016c0c8a3d0933ef33dd192ea6606b115e3 upstream.
From version 2.38, binutils default to ISA spec version 20191213. This
means that the csr read/write (csrr*/csrw*) instructions and fence.i
instruction has separated from the `I` extension, become two standalone
extensions: Zicsr and Zifencei. As the kernel uses those instruction,
this causes the following build failure:
CC arch/riscv/kernel/vdso/vgettimeofday.o
<<BUILDDIR>>/arch/riscv/include/asm/vdso/gettimeofday.h: Assembler messages:
<<BUILDDIR>>/arch/riscv/include/asm/vdso/gettimeofday.h:71: Error: unrecognized opcode `csrr a5,0xc01'

<<BUILDDIR>>/arch/riscv/include/asm/vdso/gettimeofday.h:71: Error: unrecognized opcode `csrr a5,0xc01'
The fix is to specify those extensions explicitely in -march. However as
older binutils version do not support this, we first need to detect
that.

commit 0e105f1d0037d677dff3c697d22f9551e6c39af8 upstream.
raw_smp_processor_id() doesn't return the hart id as stated in
arch/riscv/include/asm/smp.h, use smp_processor_id() instead
to get the cpu id, and cpuid_to_hartid_map() to pass the hart id
to the next kernel. This fixes kexec on HiFive Unleashed/Unmatched

commit a11c07f032a0e9a562a32ece73af96b0e754c4b3 upstream.
On kdump instead of using an intermediate step to relocate the kernel,
that lives in a "control buffer" outside the current kernel's mapping,
we jump to the crash kernel directly by calling riscv_kexec_norelocate().
The current implementation uses va_pa_offset while switching to physical
addressing, however since we moved the kernel outside the linear mapping
this won't work anymore since riscv_kexec_norelocate() is part of the
kernel mapping and we should use kernel_map.va_kernel_pa_offset, and also
take XIP kernel into account.
We don't really need to use va_pa_offset on riscv_kexec_norelocate, we
can just set STVEC to the physical address of the new kernel instead and
let the hart jump to the new kernel on the next instruction after setting
SATP to zero. This fixes kdump and is also simpler/cleaner.
I tested this on the latest qemu and HiFive Unmatched and works as
expected.

commit decf89f86ecd3c3c3de81c562010d5797bea3de1 upstream.
When allocating crash kernel region without explicitly specifying its
base address/size, memblock_phys_alloc_range will attempt to allocate
memory top to bottom (memblock.bottom_up is false), so the crash
kernel region will end up in highmem on 64bit systems. This way
swiotlb can't work on the crash kernel, since there won't be any
32bit addressible memory available for the bounce buffers.
Try to allocate 32bit addressible memory if available, for the
crash kernel by restricting the top search address to be less
than SZ_4G. If that fails fallback to the previous behavior.
I tested this on HiFive Unmatched where the pci-e controller needs
swiotlb to work, with this patch it's possible to access the pci-e
controller on crash kernel and mount the rootfs from the nvme.

commit ff083a2d972f56bebfd82409ca62e5dfce950961 upstream.
Protect perf_guest_cbs with RCU to fix multiple possible errors. Luckily,
all paths that read perf_guest_cbs already require RCU protection, e.g. to
protect the callback chains, so only the direct perf_guest_cbs touchpoints
need to be modified.
Bug #1 is a simple lack of WRITE_ONCE/READ_ONCE behavior to ensure
perf_guest_cbs isn't reloaded between a !NULL check and a dereference.
Fixed via the READ_ONCE() in rcu_dereference().
Bug #2 is that on weakly-ordered architectures, updates to the callbacks
themselves are not guaranteed to be visible before the pointer is made
visible to readers. Fixed by the smp_store_release() in
rcu_assign_pointer() when the new pointer is non-NULL.
Bug #3 is that, because the callbacks are global, it's possible for
readers to run in parallel with an unregisters, and thus a module
implementing the callbacks can be unloaded while readers are in flight,
resulting in a use-after-free. Fixed by a synchronize_rcu() call when
unregistering callbacks.
Bug #1 escaped notice because it's extremely unlikely a compiler will
reload perf_guest_cbs in this sequence. perf_guest_cbs does get reloaded
for future derefs, e.g. for ->is_user_mode(), but the ->is_in_guest()
guard all but guarantees the consumer will win the race, e.g. to nullify
perf_guest_cbs, KVM has to completely exit the guest and teardown down
all VMs before KVM start its module unload / unregister sequence. This
also makes it all but impossible to encounter bug #3.
Bug #2 has not been a problem because all architectures that register
callbacks are strongly ordered and/or have a static set of callbacks.
But with help, unloading kvm_intel can trigger bug #1 e.g. wrapping
perf_guest_cbs with READ_ONCE in perf_misc_flags() while spamming
kvm_intel module load/unload leads to:

[ Upstream commit 42a57a47bb0c0f531321a7001972a3ca121409bd ]
Devicetree source is a description of hardware and hardware has only one
block @20008000 which can be configured either as eMMC or SDHC. Having
two node for different modes is an obscure, unusual and confusing way to
configure it. Instead the board file is supposed to customize the block
to its needs, e.g. to SDHC mode.

When calling this function, all the shadow memory is already populated
with kasan_early_shadow_pte which has PAGE_KERNEL protection.
kasan_populate_early_shadow write-protects the mapping of the range
of addresses passed in argument in zero_pte_populate, which actually
write-protects all the shadow memory mapping since kasan_early_shadow_pte
is used for all the shadow memory at this point. And then when using
memblock API to populate the shadow memory, the first write access to the
kernel stack triggers a trap. This becomes visible with the next commit
that contains a fix for asan-stack.
We already manually populate all the shadow memory in kasan_early_init
and we write-protect kasan_early_shadow_pte at the end of kasan_init
which makes the calls to kasan_populate_early_shadow superfluous so
we can remove them.

"There is one build fix for Arm platforms that ended up impacting most
architectures because of the way the drivers/firmware Kconfig file is
wired up:
The CONFIG_QCOM_SCM dependency have caused a number of randconfig
regressions over time, and some still remain in v5.15-rc4. The fix we
agreed on in the end is to make this symbol selected by any driver
using it, and then building it even for non-Arm platforms with
CONFIG_COMPILE_TEST.
To make this work on all architectures, the drivers/firmware/Kconfig
file needs to be included for all architectures to make the symbol
itself visible.
In a separate discussion, we found that a sound driver patch that is
pending for v5.16 needs the same change to include this Kconfig file,
so the easiest solution seems to have my Kconfig rework included in
v5.15.
Finally, the branch also includes a small unrelated build fix for
NOMMU architectures"

While ftrace is looping over a list of addresses to patch, it always failed
when patching the same function: riscv_cpuid_to_hartid_mask. Looking at the
backtrace, the illegal instruction is encountered in this same function.
However, patch_text_nosync, after patching the instructions, calls
flush_icache_range. But looking at what happens in this function:
flush_icache_range -> flush_icache_all
-> sbi_remote_fence_i
-> __sbi_rfence_v02
-> riscv_cpuid_to_hartid_mask
The icache and dcache of the current cpu are never synchronized between the
patching of riscv_cpuid_to_hartid_mask and calling this same function.
So fix this by flushing the current cpu's icache before asking for the other
cpus to do the same.

Merge patch series from Nick Desaulniers to update the minimum gcc
version to 5.1.
This is some of the left-overs from the merge window that I didn't want
to deal with yesterday, so it comes in after -rc1 but was sent before.
Gcc-4.9 support has been an annoyance for some time, and with -Werror I
had the choice of applying a fairly big patch from Kees Cook to remove a
fair number of initializer warnings (still leaving some), or this patch
series from Nick that just removes the source of the problem.
The initializer cleanups might still be worth it regardless, but
honestly, I preferred just tackling the problem with gcc-4.9 head-on.
We've been more aggressiuve about no longer having to care about
compilers that were released a long time ago, and I think it's been a
good thing.
I added a couple of patches on top to sort out a few left-overs now that
we no longer support gcc-4.x.
As noted by Arnd, as a result of this minimum compiler version upgrade
we can probably change our use of '--std=gnu89' to '--std=gnu11', and
finally start using local loop declarations etc. But this series does
_not_ yet do that.

The EFI system partition uses the FAT file system. Many distributions add
an entry in /etc/fstab for the ESP. We must ensure that mounting does not
fail.
The default code page for FAT is 437 (cf. CONFIG_FAT_DEFAULT_CODEPAGE).
The default IO character set is "iso8859-1" (cf. CONFIG_NLS_ISO8859_1).
So let's enable NLS_CODEPAGE_437 and NLS_ISO8859_1 in defconfig.

NVMe is a non-volatile storage media attached via PCIe.
As NVMe has much higher throughput than other block devices like
SATA it is a must have for RISC-V. Enable CONFIG_BLK_DEV_NVME.
The HiFive Unmatched is a board providing M.2 slots for NVMe drives.
Enable CONFIG_PCIE_FU740.

Ensure that all usage sites of get/put_online_cpus() except for the
struggler in drivers/thermal are gone. So the last user and the deprecated
inlines can be removed.
