2011-09-26ARM: add an extra temp register to the low level debugging addruart macroNicolas Pitre1-1/+1
Some platforms (like OMAP not to name it) are doing rather complicated hacks just to determine the base UART address to use. Let's give their addruart macro some slack by providing an extra work register which will allow for much needed cleanups. This is basically a no-op as this commit is only adding the extra argument to the macro but no one is using it yet. 2010-10-20arm: return both physical and virtual addresses from addruartJeremy Kerr1-0/+38
Rather than checking the MMU status in every instance of addruart, do it once in kernel/debug.S, and change the existing addruart macros to return both physical and virtual addresses. The main debug code can then select the appropriate address to use. This will also allow us to retreive the address of a uart for the MMU state that we're not current in. Updated with fixes for OMAP from Jason Wang <jason77.wang@gmail.com> and Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>, and fix for versatile express from Lorenzo Pieralisi <lorenzo.pieralisi@arm.com>. 2010-06-24ARM: Remove support for LinkUp Systems L7200 SDP.Russell King23-1183/+0
This hasn't been actively maintained for a long time, only receiving the occasional build update when things break. I doubt anyone has one of these on their desks anymore. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2010-02-12ARM: 5910/1: ARM: Add tmp register for addruart and loadspTony Lindgren1-1/+1
Otherwise more complicated uart configuration won't be possible. We can use r1 for tmp register for both head.S and debug.S. NOTE: This patch depends on another patch to add the the tmp register into all debug-macro.S files. That can be done with: $ sed -i -e "s/addruart,rx|addruart, rx/addruart, rx, tmp/" arch/arm/*/include/*/debug-macro.S Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2009-03-19[ARM] pass reboot command line to arch_reset()Russell King1-1/+1
OMAP wishes to pass state to the boot loader upon reboot in order to instruct it whether to wait for USB-based reflashing or not. There is already a facility to do this via the reboot() syscall, except we ignore the string passed to machine_restart(). This patch fixes things to pass this string to arch_reset(). This means that we keep the reboot mode limited to telling the kernel _how_ to perform the reboot which should be independent of what we request the boot loader to do. 2008-11-30[ARM] Add a common typesafe __io implementationRussell King1-6/+2
As Al did for Versatile in 2ad4f86b60b649fd7428265c08d73a3bd360c81b, add a typesafe __io implementation for platforms to use. Convert platforms to use this new simple typesafe implementation. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-11-29[ARM] Hide ISA DMA API when ISA_DMA_API is unsetRussell King1-16/+0
When ISA_DMA_API is unset, we're not implementing the ISA DMA API, so there's no point in publishing the prototypes via asm/dma.h, nor including the machine dependent parts of that API. This allows us to remove a lot of mach/dma.h files which don't contain any useful code. Unfortunately though, some platforms put their own private non-ISA definitions into mach/dma.h, so we leave these behind and fix the appropriate #include statments. 2008-11-29[ARM] move MAX_DMA_ADDRESS to mach/memory.hRussell King1-7/+0
Move the definition of MAX_DMA_ADDRESS from mach/dma.h to mach/memory.h, thereby placing it along side its relative, ISA_DMA_THRESHOLD. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-11-28[ARM] l7200: avoid polluting the kernel's namespaceRussell King1-2/+0
Avoid unnecessarily pollution of the kernel's namespace by avoiding mach/hardware.h in mach/io.h. Include this header file where necessary. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2008-11-28[ARM] remove a common set of __virt_to_bus definitionsNicolas Pitre1-3/+0
Let's provide an overridable default instead of having every machine class define __virt_to_bus and __bus_to_virt to the same thing. What most platforms are using is bus_addr == phys_addr so such is the default. One exception is ebsa110 which has no DMA what so ever, so the actual definition is not important except only for proper compilation. Also added a comment about the special footbridge bus translation. Let's also remove comments alluding to set_dma_addr which is not (and should not) be commonly used. 2008-08-07[ARM] Move include/asm-arm/arch-* to arch/arm/*/include/machRussell King22-1/+1103

2008-08-07[ARM] Remove asm/hardware.h, use asm/arch/hardware.h insteadRussell King1-1/+1
Remove includes of asm/hardware.h in addition to asm/arch/hardware.h. Then, since asm/hardware.h only exists to include asm/arch/hardware.h, update everything to directly include asm/arch/hardware.h and remove asm/hardware.h. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

2006-01-13[ARM] 3260/1: remove phys_ram from struct machine_desc (part 2)Nicolas Pitre1-1/+0

2005-10-14[ARM] 2980/1: Fix L7200 core.c compileDeepak Saxena1-5/+15
Patch from Deepak Saxena This patch fixes L7200 so that it builds in 2.6.latest. I do not have the hardware so don't know if it actually still works, but the changes are fairly trivial. I am not even sure if anyone still maintains, uses, or cares about this machine type. Signed-off-by: Deepak Saxena <dsaxena@plexity.net> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2005-09-29[ARM] Don't include asm/arch/hardware.h directlyRussell King1-1/+0
Since asm/hardware.h's only reason for existing is to include asm/arch/hardware.h, it's completely pointless to include both. Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
