2018-03-28dt-bindings: pwm: sunxi: Add new compatible stringsAndre Przywara1-0/+2
The PWM controllers found in the Allwinner A64 and H5 SoCs are fully compatible to the PWM controllers found in the A13 and H3. Add new compatible strings for those SoCs to the binding document, so that they can be safely used, together with a fallback string (preferably "allwinner,sun5i-a13-pwm"). 2018-03-28dt-bindings: pwm: rcar: Document r8a774[35] PWM bindingsFabrizio Castro1-3/+7
This patch adds compatible strings specific to r8a774[35], no driver change is needed as the fallback compatible string will activate the right code. Also, this patch replaces the example with a DT snippet used for adding PWM0 support to an r8a7743 based platform as the r8a7743 is now the first platform fully compatible with this driver and its PWM DT nodes refer to up-to-date code. It adds bindings document for ZTE ZX PWM controller. The device has two clocks: PCLK and WCLK. The PCLK is for register access, and WCLK is the reference clock for calculating period and duty cycles. Also, the device supports polarity configuration, so #pwm-cells should be 3. 2017-04-12pwm: tegra: Add DT binding details to configure pin in suspends/resumeLaxman Dewangan1-0/+45
In some of NVIDIA Tegra's platform, PWM controller is used to control the PWM controlled regulators. PWM signal is connected to the VID pin of the regulator where duty cycle of PWM signal decide the voltage level of the regulator output. When system enters suspend, some PWM client/slave regulator devices require the PWM output to be tristated. Add DT binding details to provide the pin configuration state from PWM and pinctrl DT node in suspend and active state of the system. In order to support capture of PWM signals a new clock as well as an interrupt line are required. Furthermore a new property is introduced that allows the number of capture channels to be specified. Typically there will be less capture channels than output channels, since all channels have the latter capability, but only some have support for capture. 2016-07-25dt-bindings: pwm: Add binding for ChromeOS EC PWMBrian Norris1-0/+23
The ChromeOS Embedded Controller can support controlling its attached PWMs via its host-command interface. The number of supported PWMs varies on a per-board basis, but we can autodetect this by checking the error codes, so we don't need an extra property for this. And because the EC only allows specifying the duty cycle and not the period, we don't specify the period via pwm-cells, and instead have only support for one cell -- to specify the index. OMAP GP timers can have different input clocks that allow different PWM frequencies. However, there is no other way of setting the clock source but through clocks or clock-names properties of the timer itself. This limits PWM functionality to only the frequencies allowed by the particular clock source. Allowing setting the clock source by PWM rather than by timer allows different PWMs to have different ranges by not hard-wiring the clock source to the timer.
