Use the wrapper function for retrieving the platform data instead of
accessing dev->platform_data directly. This is a cosmetic change to
make the code simpler and enhance the readability.

Instead of using legacy suspend/resume methods, using newer dev_pm_ops

Use the wrapper function for getting the driver data using
backlight_device instead of using dev_get_drvdata with &bd->dev, so we can
directly pass a struct backlight_device.

By using devm_gpio_request_one it is possible to set the direction and
initial value in one shot. Thus, using devm_gpio_request_one can make the
code simpler.

The devm_ functions allocate memory that is released when a driver
detaches. This patch uses devm_gpio_request() for these functions.
