printk and friends can now format bitmaps using '%*pb[l]'. cpumask
and nodemask also provide cpumask_pr_args() and nodemask_pr_args()
respectively which can be used to generate the two printf arguments
necessary to format the specified cpu/nodemask.

<title>ia64, topology: Fix CPU hotplug callback registration</title>

<id>urn:sha1:f5a7d445ffb6b251dc41942ffe41f515e8d639a4</id>

Subsystems that want to register CPU hotplug callbacks, as well as perform
initialization for the CPUs that are already online, often do it as shown
below:

	get_online_cpus();

	for_each_online_cpu(cpu)
		init_cpu(cpu);

	register_cpu_notifier(&amp;foobar_cpu_notifier);

	put_online_cpus();

This is wrong, since it is prone to ABBA deadlocks involving the
cpu_add_remove_lock and the cpu_hotplug.lock (when running concurrently
with CPU hotplug operations).

Instead, the correct and race-free way of performing the callback
registration is:

	cpu_notifier_register_begin();

	for_each_online_cpu(cpu)
		init_cpu(cpu);

	/* Note the use of the double underscored version of the API */
	__register_cpu_notifier(&amp;foobar_cpu_notifier);

	cpu_notifier_register_done();

Fix the topology code in ia64 by using this latter form of callback
registration.

<title>[IA64] Delete __cpuinit usage from all ia64 users</title>

The __cpuinit type of throwaway sections might have made sense
some time ago when RAM was more constrained, but now the savings
do not offset the cost and complications. For example, the fix in
commit 5e427ec2d0 ("x86: Fix bit corruption at CPU resume time")
is a good example of the nasty type of bugs that can be created
with improper use of the various __init prefixes.

After a discussion on LKML[1] it was decided that cpuinit should go
the way of devinit and be phased out. Once all the users are gone,
we can then finally remove the macros themselves from linux/init.h.

This removes all the ia64 uses of the __cpuinit macros.

<title>[IA64] Resolve name space collision for cache_show()</title>

We have a local static function named rather generically
"cache_show()". Changes in progress in the slab code want
to use this same name globally - so they are adding their
declaration to &lt;linux/slab.h&gt; which then causes the compiler
to choke with:

arch/ia64/kernel/topology.c:278: error: conflicting types for 'cache_show'

Fix by adding an "ia64_" prefix to our local function.

This was marked as obsolete for quite a while now.. Now it is time to
remove it altogether. And while doing this, get rid of first_cpu() as
well. Also, remove the redundant setting of cpu_online_mask in
smp_prepare_cpus() because the generic code would have already set cpu 0
in cpu_online_mask.

<title>cpu: convert 'cpu' and 'machinecheck' sysdev_class to a regular subsystem</title>

This moves the 'cpu sysdev_class' over to a regular 'cpu' subsystem
and converts the devices to regular devices. The sysdev drivers are
implemented as subsystem interfaces now.

After all sysdev classes are ported to regular driver core entities, the
sysdev implementation will be entirely removed from the kernel.

Userspace relies on events and generic sysfs subsystem infrastructure
from sysdev devices, which are made available with this conversion.
